CSU-Pueblo's Student Health Services will be administering the meningitis vaccine free of charge to students on a first-come, first-served basis. SHS currently has 200 doses of the meningitis vaccine available. The National Centers for Disease Control recommends that children from the ages of 2 to 18 get the vaccine including college freshman, especially those who live on campus. College Freshman who live in dormitories are at a slightly increased risk for bacterial meningitis compared to other persons of the same age, according to the CDC. The health center, in the Occhiato University Center, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
