Upward Bound helps young people and adolescents develop the skills and motivation to continue with higher education. Participants receive tutoring in literature, composition, foreign languages, mathematics, and science. Participants also get involved with cultural events; obtain assistance with college preparation, financial aid, scholarships, and career development.
There are three components of the Upward Bound Program.
Academic School Year
- Summer Program
- Bridge Component
All components are free to Upward Bound students.
The Academic School Year Services
The Academic School Year Services is a full academic school year program that students attend to receive assistance with college admissions, financial aid and scholarship applications. Students will attend skill-building workshops in areas such as study skills, time management, and career exploration.
The Summer Academic Program

The Summer Bridge College Preparation Program
