Appeal Procedure

Although the formula used to determine eligibility for financial aid is generally the same for all applicants, there are certain instances where some flexibility may be employed.  Examples include special circumstances that might affect a student’s dependency status, missed deadlines, an award which may not meet your cost of education, a significant change in your family’s income due to unemployment or change of employment, or significant medical expenses.

Contact Student Financial Services and discuss your situation with a Financial Aid Counselor, who will determine the best solution.  This may include completing a Financial Aid Appeal form, to be provided by a Financial Aid Counselor.  Financial Aid Appeals must include a written explanation accompanied by any supporting documentation.

Please be advised that we cannot adjust your EFC due to lifestyle choices or consumer decisions which are generally within your control and/or are not directly associated with going to school (e.g., automobile loan payments, individual leases or mortgages, insurance, utility payments, pet expenses, etc.).
