College Opportunity Fund


Grants

Grants do not have to be repaid, unless eligibility requirements are not met. Generally, grants are for undergraduate students, and the grant amount is based on financial need.  To be considered for all grants, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and University Scholarship application no later than March 1 each year.

  • Undergraduate student pursuing 1st bachelor's degree or enrolled in eligible teacher certification program
  • Amounts change based on enrollment
  • Expected Family Contribution (EFC) less than $4,042

Colorado Student Grant

$850 - $2,500

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

Up to $4,000

  • Must be undergraduate pursuing 1st bachelor's degree with high need
  • Must qualify for Federal Pell Grant
  • Based on available funding

Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

$750 - $1300

  • Full time undergraduate student enrolled in first or second year
  • U.S. citizen receiving Pell Grant
  • completed a rigorous secondary school program of study
  • graduated from high school after January 1, 2005
  • Final high school transcript provided to CSU-Pueblo 
  • 3.0 grade point average (2nd year only)

Colorado Pre-Collegiate Academic Competitiveness Grant Match (PACG)

Up to $1000

  • Colorado resident receiving federal ACG

National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) Grant

$4000

  • Full time undergraduate student enrolled in third or fourth year
  • U.S. citizen receiving Pell Grant
  • Major in physical, life or computer science, engineering, mathematics, technology, or a critical foreign language
  • 3.0 grade point average

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant

Up to $4000

  • Student must complete coursework necessary to begin a career in teaching
  • 3.25 grade point average or score above the 75th percentile on an admissions test, such as the SAT, ACT or GRE
  • Students must sign an Agreement to Serve and complete counseling to certify that they understand the terms of the grant and the terms of their teaching service requirements. If service is not met, the grant must be repaid as an Unsubsidized Direct Stafford Loan, with interest from the date of original disbursement
  • No maximum EFC

Colorado Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (CLEAP)

Supplemental Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (SLEAP)

  • Undergraduate students pursuing teacher education licensure
  • Must demonstrate financial need according to guidelines set by the CCHE

Colorado Graduate Grant

$2,000

  • Colorado resident enrolled in a CCHE approved critical career graduate degree program
  • Must demonstrate financial need according to guidelines set by CCHE

University Access Grant

$3000 - $4500

  • Non-Colorado residents who began enrollment fall 2005 or later
  • Minimum 2.7 entering grade point average (GPA)
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA required to continue grant
  • Must complete University scholarship application

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Grant

$1000 - $2259
