The Skype English Conversation Course is offered through the English Language Institute (ELI) at Colorado State University-Pueblo in Pueblo, Colorado.
What is it?
The online format through Skype allows students an opportunity to engage in a face-to-face instruction with their teachers. It gives students a chance to enhance their listening and speaking skills in their own country prior to their enrollment at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
How does it work?
This course focuses on listening, speaking, and pronunciation in order to enhance the student’s communicative skills. The course also builds vocabulary and grammar.
Maximum class size is 3 students. The class meets for one hour, three times each week for one semester (12 weeks). In addition, the course requires five hours outside of class for homework and preparation for the next class lesson. Homework is assigned regularly throughout the semester.
An Award of completion from the ELI and CSU-Pueblo is given to students who successfully complete the course.
Instructors are graduate students or upper classmen majors in English or related fields.
How much does it cost?
$70 per student, per week (3 times a week) for 12 weeks; total of $840
Discount rate for students who enroll in the ELI after completion Skype class:
$50 per student, per week (3 times a week) for 12 weeks; total of $600
for the application form.
