Use the PMS or RGB colors for images. Use the Web-Safe colors for tables and text.

DEFAULT FONTS

Defaults fonts are defined in the style sheets provided by ITS and can also be included in auxiliary style sheets created by Web developers. The default font order is: arial, verdana, helvetica, and sans serif.

DEFAULT WEB PAGE NAMES

All Web sites may contain a default Web page. Faculty and staff personal Web sites not using a standard default Web page will not be displayed in their respective lists of personal Web sites. The default Web page names for the University Web server are:

EXAMPLE: The home page http://www.colostate-pueblo.edu/its/Pages/default.aspx can be shortened to http://www.colostate-pueblo.edu/its/ and it works just like the longer URL.

Using the default Web page name makes it is easier to give the URL to callers on the telephone. EXAMPLE: If the default Web page name is not used you could have a home page like: www.colostate-pueblo.edu/its/home-page- for-CSU-Pueblo-Web-Developers.html (not a real Web page name.)

The second home page used in this example is more difficult to give over the telephone, and to type on the keyboard. ITS recommends that all departments use default Web page names.

EXTERNAL LINKS

Any links provided to other sites will be accessible and appropriate. Links to commercial sites are strongly discouraged, with the exception of links to various search engines that include advertising.

All links to PDF, RTF, and DOC files should open a new browser window.

OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY LOGOS

A strong visual identity, one that projects a clear and consistent image, can positively affect attitudes and opinions. The following graphic elements, when used correctly and consistently, will help strengthen the University's identity and distinguish it from other colleges and universities.

In order to establish a consistent and unified graphic identity, all printed material and promotional items representing CSU-Pueblo should utilize one of the following graphic elements based on the timeline associated with the usage of the publication or promotional item.

PLEASE NOTE:
When you download an EPS file from the Web, the file's extension may be changed from '.eps' to '.ps'. If this occurs, locate the file and change the extension back to '.eps'.

CSU-Pueblo logo
This graphic image should be used on any publications or correspondence directly related to recruitment of students for the Fall, 2003 year and beyond, or on any publication or promotional item with a utilization or shelf life beyond July, 2003. This image should be printed in black or blue (PMS 281) or in special cases in red (PMS 186).

CSU-Pueblo 75th Anniversary logo
The official University logo has been adapted to include the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the University in 2008. It MAY be used through December 31, 2008, so consider this when including the logo on publications that have a shelf life of longer than one year. Use of this logo is not required but recommended for use during 2008. JPG image with a white background.

USC logo
The USC logo or the USC/CSU-Pueblo Transition logo should no longer be used as a graphic element in the creation of university publications or promotional items.

CSU-Pueblo Wolf logo
This image should replace the current ThunderWolf USC logo on any publication or promotional item with a utilization or shelf life beyond the 2002-2003 academic year (for use after July, 2003). This image may be printed in black only, blue only (PMS 281), or in a two-color format of red (PMS 186) and blue (PMS 281) as indicated. The wolf head may be used in isolation as long as Colorado State University - Pueblo or CSU-Pueblo also appears as part of the publication or specialty item.

CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves graphics
These are alternatives to use of the CSU-Pueblo wolf logo that include the ThunderWolves mascot name. These elements may be printed in black only, blue only (PMS 281), or in a two-color format of red (PMS 186) and blue as shown.

USC ThunderWolf
The USC ThunderWolf logo should no longer be used as a graphic element in the creation of university publications or promotional items.

CSU-Pueblo Division of Continuing Education Logos
These graphic images should only be used on any publication or correspondence directly related to the CSU-Pueblo, Division of Continuing Education. Three types are available, and are available in either color, or black & white.

Reproduction of logos
Reduced, scanned, or digitized logos are easily distorted and often do not reproduce well in printing. Reproductions of these images should be no smaller than two inches. These images should not be redrawn, re-proportioned, or altered in any way, with the exception of size. To alter any of these relationships is to undermine the purpose of having a consistent and recognizable institutional image.

Logos for Web pages
This section does not apply to SharePoint CMS websites and pages. Six logos are available for CSU-Pueblo Web pages. The logos are the same type used in the banner on the CSU-Pueblo home page. Streaming video use is permitted on the University Web servers. Please view the State of Colorado Accessibility Standards regarding streaming video on the CSU-Pueblo Web server.

TITLE TAGS

This section does not apply to SharePoint CMS websites and pages. To enhance Web page functionality with search engines (including the University’s) and to promote University identification, every Web page must include a meaningful, unique <TITLE> tag that also includes the text "Colorado State University-Pueblo" or "CSU-Pueblo." Example: Admissions Department at Colorado State University-Pueblo or CSU-Pueblo > Admissions Department. For the best results, the <TITLE> tag should be the first line after the <HEAD> tag.
