Electronic Mail Policy

E-mail accounts will be issued only in the following cases:

  • To all currently enrolled students. This includes any student enrolled in an on-campus course.
  • To employees at their request. This includes any person actively employed including faculty, staff, and hourly positions, full time, part time, permanent, or temporary status.
  • To currently enrolled students in off-campus programs on a case by case basis. Approval is provided by the Director of Continuing Education. This does not include high school students enrolled in the Senior to Sophomore Program.
  • To students who are in the process of completing an academic assignment. This includes cases such as Incompletes or other special assignments. Requests for these accounts must be made by a faculty member.
  • To students enrolled in a consortium class taught in conjunction with another educational agency. Approval must be obtained from the CSU-Pueblo faculty consortium representative.
  • To student organizations at the request of faculty sponsors.
  • To University departments at the request of a departmental representative.
  • To University affiliates (such as the Business and Technology Center, etc) at the request of the affiliate representative. This may include individual accounts for employees. Affiliates may include other state or government agencies such as state auditors. Accounts of the latter type are typically when there is benefit to the University or a benefit to the working relationship between the affiliate and the University.
  • To employees of Higher Education Institutions outside of CSU-Pueblo. These requests must be made in writing on official letterhead.
  • Accounts for former students or employees may be allowed to continue to assist in a transition. The duration is typically for 4 to 6 weeks, but no more than one semester. Approval is on a case by case basis and the decision is made by ITS management.
  • To individuals or organizations as approved by the President or Provost.
