By manual searches from the SPIN link on the ORSP web site. Any Internet site that has funding announcements. Funding Opportunities/Deadlines link on the ORSP homepage. |
Who do I contact? |
A representative from the ORSP.
Colorado State University-Pueblo Office of Research and Sponsored Programs 2200 Bonforte Blvd. Pueblo, CO 81001 mel.druelinger@colostate-pueblo.edu(Office)719.549.2325 (FAX)719.549.2071 |
How do I apply? |
Download the proposal guidelines and application from the agency web site. Schedule a meeting with the Director of ORSP and forward him a set of guidelines or the guidelines web site. Many agencies limit the number of proposals they will accept from an institution. Please check with the Director of ORSP, who will coordinate submissions from the university, prior to beginning work on a proposal. |
What forms do I need? |
The required institutional Routing Sheet, which is available under the FORMS link on the ORSP web site. The proposal application packet from the agency should provide all forms they are requiring with the proposal or provide information directing you where to obtain them. If not, please check for the contact information for the program director, who you may contact with your request. |
Who fills out the forms once I have them? |
The Principal Investigator (PI) is responsible for filling out the forms. The ORSP is available to assist you if you have any questions and to provide any institutional information you may need.
|
When are the deadlines and where are they posted? |
The deadline should be posted in the proposal guidelines or application packet. Please note: the proposal is due to the ORSP at least one week prior to the submission date.
|
What do I need to submit to ORSP for final processing and submission? |
The completed proposal and all forms required in the application packet. The completed Routing Sheet with signatures of the department chair and dean. |
How do I know if I have been awarded? |
The awarding agency will send a letter to the principal investigator or stating the award and the award amount. A copy of the award letter then needs to be forwarded to the Director of ORSP. |
If I am awarded, then what? |
The PI, Director of ORSP, Department Chair and Dean will meet to go over the institutional commitments, reporting requirements and timelines. If budgetary negotiations are needed, the Director of ORSP will assist you in the process. The PI will need to complete an Account Create form, which is available on the ORSP FORMS page, and submit it to the Grants Manager in Accounting. The Grants Manager will assign an account number and go over the accounting process with the PI. |
If I've been declined, then what? |
Most agencies will announce the same grant from year to year. Hold on to the proposal, meet with the Director of ORSP and make any necessary changes to resubmit in the next round. |
