Corporation for National Service plans to support up to 12 National Service Fellowships.  The Fellowships will be in the form of a contract made directly to  individuals. Both full-time (40 hours or more per week) and part-time (at  least 20 hours per week) may be awarded.

Corning Incorporated Foundation - Each year, the Foundation fulfills approximately 225 grants totaling some $2,800,000.  Corning's areas of involvement have included community service programs for students, curriculum enrichment, student scholarships, facility improvement, and instructional technology projects for the classroom.

Council of Independent Colleges' Engaging Communities and Campuses  program assists independent colleges and universities and their community organization partners extend and deepen their commitments to student learning and community interests. The overall program includes an effective practice exchange, regional teaching and learning workshops, and a grants competition.

Most of the programs are focused in the areas of research, education, and service. These programs are open to all individuals.

GuideStar -- A free service with information on the programs and finances of American charities and nonprofit organizations.

Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Learning - will award $25,000 grants to nonprofits for developing and implementing entrepreneurship programs for college students. Internships are to be designed to expose students to social entrepreneurs trying to solve societal problems. . (Deadline early December).

John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation -- A private, independent grantmaking institution dedicated to helping groups and individuals foster lasting improvement in the human condition. The Foundation seeks the development of healthy individuals and effective communities; peace within and among nations; responsible choices about human reproduction; and a global ecosystem capable of supporting healthy human societies. The Foundation pursues this mission by supporting research, policy development, dissemination, education and training, and practice.

Charles Stewart Mott Foundation grantmaking is organized in the areas of Environment and  Pathways Out of Poverty.

New Ventures in Philanthropy two primary components: a pool of grant money for local or regional initiatives that promote the full range of options for establishing grantmaking funds; and a national staff that supports these local or regional efforts by convening information exchanges, providing tools and technical assistance, and building collaborative relationships with staff at other national organizations that share the goal of promoting the growth of philanthropy. New Voices Fellowship Program to Support Small Nonprofits - awards two-year grants to small nonprofit organizations working in various fields related to social and economic justice. Sponsored program areas include international human rights, women's rights, racial justice, migrant and refugee rights, international peace and security, foreign policy, and international economic.

Organizations can also locate information using 13 search engines at this site and get advice about planning and applying for grants.

RGK Foundation is accepting grant applications for innovative projects in community affairs, education, and medicine. Grants in these areas include support for research and conferences as well as support for programs that promote academic excellence in institutions of higher learning; programs that raise literacy levels; programs that attract minority and female students into the fields of math, science, and technology; and programs that promote the health and well-being of children.

William E. Simon Foundation - awards grants in several areas, including, but not restricted to, the following: - Education - Religion - Youth Welfare - Athletics - Social Welfare - Special Awards.
