Throughout the fall and spring semesters of the first year advisors provide academic intervention and assist with Early Alerts for those students who are identified as being academically at-risk. Moreover, the advisor will also conduct campus-wide grade checks in order to evaluate progress and assess the student’s next semester schedule.
Tutoring is a vital component to a student’s success. Many students who need academic intervention will find that tutoring is a great out-of-class resource. Tutoring is provided all over campus including:
- First-Year Center
- Developmental math
- Developmental reading
- Tutoring schedule
- Writing Room
- Math Learning Center
- Student Support Services
- Co-Amp
First-Year Programs can also help students with their time-management, study skills, goal planning and major changes.
