PUEBLO – The Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation raised $2,360 as a partner in #GivingTuesday, a national fund-raising effort that harnessed the collective power of non-profit partners and funders with a goal to change the way people think about, talk about, and participate during the Holiday giving season.
Gifts to the CSU-Pueblo Foundation, including #GivingTuesday gifts, are important as they provide resources that will have an immediate impact on students through scholarships and program enhancements. In addition, every gift made on #GivingTuesday was applied to the Foundation’s “On the Move Campaign,” a $25 million capital campaign that will strengthen the university through additional scholarships, new athletic offerings, and capital improvements.
“We are pleased with the response we received from our first-ever effort through #Giving Tuesday,” said Todd Kelly, CSU-Pueblo Foundation CEO/President. “Although we fell short of our $5,000 goal for the day, we raised awareness of philanthropy through great media coverage from The Pueblo Chieftain, ClearChannel, and REV 89.5, and our social media pages saw unprecedented activity.”
Following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, the CSU-Pueblo Foundation participated in the second annual #GivingTuesday, a national effort to raise awareness about philanthropy and giving throughout the Holiday season. The CSU-Pueblo foundation harnessed the collective power of email and social media to collaborate with university supporters.
Partners and friends of the University are invited and encouraged to give to the CSU-Pueblo Foundation throughout the giving season. Year-end gifts must be received and/or postmarked by December 31, 2013 to receive 2013 tax deductions.
