Colorado State University - Pueblo Offers Summer Scholars experience in July
PUEBLO - Incoming freshmen to Colorado State University-Pueblo have an opportunity to earn six college credits in four weeks this summer, July 15-August 14, while living on campus and experiencing the great Colorado outdoors as part of the University’s Summer Scholars program.
This dynamic summer bridge program allows students to accelerate their college career by earning six credits in a supportive, residential living environment with full access to student facilities and advisors. The program teaches student success skills and time management for full-time enrollment by requiring students to live on campus and participate in scheduled classes and activities. Participating incoming freshmen will complete six credits, including general education and developmental courses, while experiencing college life and the great Colorado outdoors for a highly discounted price of just $2,500. This price for resident and non-resident students alike includes tuition, fees, books, housing, meals, parking, and outdoor activities like hiking, biking, or kayaking.
The Summer Scholars program costs may be covered in full or part by financial aid
The Summer Scholars Program offers:
- Outdoor Pursuits opportunities including challenge course, rock climbing, mountain biking, peak ascent, and/or canoeing.
- High-achieving students the chance to complete such general education courses as composition, Speech, math, or a general education elective, while students needing college preparatory courses in writing can complete those before the start of the Fall 2013 semester.
- An easier transition to college living and learning environments by helping students become accustomed to the locations and feel of residence halls (new Crestone Hall), cafeterias, laboratories and classrooms.
- A network of new friends to help you avoid the sometimes uncomfortable transition to starting a new life chapter.
