Two candidates to interview next week for finance and administration vice president
 
PUEBLO – Two candidates for the Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA) at Colorado State University-Pueblo will be on campus for interviews next week. Doug Vinzant, most recently vice president for administration at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., will interview on August 6 and 7 and Marty Hanifin, director of administrative services for campus operations at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore., will interview on August 8 and 9. Delores Sanford has served as interim vice president since December of 2011.
 
The VPFA is the principal administrator responsible for the University’s budget and fiscal operations, student financial services, facilities, campus safety, auxiliary services, external grants/contract accounting, and human resources.  The VPFA provides oversight for the systems, processes and procedures which ensure that efficient and effective services of the aforementioned are provided in support of the University’s mission of education, research, and public service.  The VPFA oversees the divisional units of Business Financial Services, Auxiliary Services, Purchasing, Student Financial Services, Facilities Management (EHS, Physical Plant, Mail/Warehouse Services, and Planning/Construction), Campus Safety, and Human Resources.
 
DOUG VINZANTDoug Vinzant most recently served as vice president for administration at the University of Wyoming, where he was chief financial administrative office and deputy treasurer for the University Board of Trustees. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Mississippi College, a Master of Public Administration and a doctoral degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. His professional experience includes serving as budget director at Central Washington University (1986-87), director of budget services (1987-89) and associate vice president (1987-91) at Eastern Washington University, where he also served as assistant professor in the College of Business (1993-95). Prior to that, Vinzant served as director of strategic planning & policy analysis (1995-2020) at Arizona State University’s main campus, after which he served as associate vice president for planning and budgeting (2002-07) and senior associate vice president for planning and administration (2002-09) at the University of Illinois - Urbana.  His early career experiences also include budget analyst for the Department of Social and Health Services Budget Office and program analyst in the Governor’s Budget Office,  both in Olympia, WA.
 
 
MARTY HANIFINSince 2010, Marty Hanifin has served as director of administrative services for campus operations at the University of Oregon, having served as assistant vice president for administration from 2007-2009. He served as the legislative fiscal analyst for the Appropriations subcommittee on Human Services ($2 billion budget) for the Oklahoma State Senate in 2006-2007. He held numerous positions in the Vermont State Government from 1986 to 2005, including legal assistant to Vermont Governor Howard Dean and Business manager for the Vermont Department of State Attorneys and Sheriffs Hannifin earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Norwich University, a master’s degree in government and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia, a second master’s degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma, and a juris doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
