Two candidates to interview next week for School of Business Dean at CSU-Pueblo

PUEBLO – Two candidates for the Dean of the Hasan School of Business (HSB) at Colorado State University-Pueblo will be on campus for interviews next week. Clifford Nowell, associate dean, John B. Goddard School of Business and Economics, Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, will interview on Monday, March 19. Bruce Raymond, associate dean for administration and finance in the Montana State University College of Business will interview on Friday, March 23. Dr. Sue Hanks has been serving as interim dean of the Hasan School of Business since the Fall of 2011 when Dr. Michael Fronmueller stepped down as dean to return to the faculty.

The HSB Dean provides leadership and administration to the faculty, staff, and students of the school. In addition, the dean fosters excellence in teaching, research, and service to the campus and community; oversees the education of undergraduate and graduate students within the school; maintains AASCB accreditation; develops and nurtures collegial relationships with both campus and community constituents, and participates as an active partner in economic development efforts in the region.

The Hasan School of Business provides high quality undergraduate and graduate business education for a diverse student population. HSB consists of 24 full-time faculty and serves more than 700 undergraduates and 75 MBA students. Accredited by AACSB, HSB is the premier provider of business education in southern Colorado and serves as a major resource for both the University and the region.
 
Clifford Nowell  joined Weber State University in 1988, working his way up the ranks from assistant professor of economics to chair of economics, assistant dean of faculty development and currently, associate dean in the Goddard School of Business and Economics. He spent 2002 as a visiting scholarship with Shanghai Normal University in Shanghai, China. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming as well as a doctoral degree in economics.

 Since 2001, Bruce Raymond has served as associate dean for administration and finance and an associate professor in the Montana State University College of Business, where he supervised state and endowment budgets; capital equipment acquisition and maintenance; faculty annual evaluation; adjunct and tenure track faculty recruitment; collection and summarization of student evaluations of teaching; enrollment forecasting; course scheduling; management of support services; personnel contract creation; university policy and procedure compliance; college key performance indicators collection and assessment; solicitation, review and award of scholarship applications; grant writing, academic appeals and administration of computers and technology.


Prior to that, he spent four years as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Brigham Young University, and a Mast of Business Administration and a doctoral degree in production/operations management from the University of Utah.
