CSU - Pueblo Chicano/Latino Students Sponsor Reception and Community Dance
PUEBLO –Colorado State University-Pueblo’s MEChA student organization in conjunction with the CSU-Pueblo Diversity Resource Center, Chicano Studies Program, and Office of Student Activities will sponsor a Chicano/Latino Student reception and dance on Friday September 16.
The reception will begin at 7 p.m. in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge. The reception will allow current Chicano and Latino students to interact with alumni from CSU-Pueblo, USC, and SCSC. The reception also will feature information about the University Library’s Colorado Chicano Movement Collection as well as a performance by Chicano poet Ara Cruz.
A community dance featuring a DJ and the band Arrieros Musical will follow the reception at 9 p.m. in the OUC Ballroom. Reception tickets are $15 in advance of the event or $20 at the door. Dance tickets are $8 before the event and $10 at the door. Students receive a $2 discount.
