Colorado State University - Pueblo, PCC to celebrate Thomas Healy contributions

PUEBLO – The Foundations at Colorado State University-Pueblo and Pueblo Community College (PCC) will celebrate the generosity of the late Thomas V. Healy on Wednesday as the schools begin to establish scholarships in his name as designated in his will.

Friends of Healy, the Foundations, Foundation board members, college and university representatives as well as the Jones-Healy Real Estate staff will gather from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29 in the Jones-Healy Conference Room, 199 W. 6th, #2. Healy’s estate provides assets valued at nearly $2 million to establish Thomas V. Healy Scholarship funds for students at both CSU-Pueblo and PCC. At CSU-Pueblo, scholarships shall be awarded to students participating in the Thomas V. Healy Center at the Hasan School of Business (HSB). At PCC, scholarships shall be awarded on a non-need basis to students who exhibit “outstanding academic success and community service,” with preference given to students whose goal is to pursue a career in the real estate field. 

Throughout his life, Healy devoted himself to activities with Pueblo's institutions of higher education. He was an emeritus member of the Pueblo Community College Foundation from 1999 to 2009, a member of the University of Colorado School of Business Alumni Advisory Council from 1966 to 1970, and a founding member of the Hasan School of Business Advisory Board, where he served from 1997 to 2007.
