CSU- Pueblo business student earns $1,000 national GEICO Achievement Award
PUEBLO – One Colorado State University-Pueblo student, junior accounting major Sarah Carlson, Fort Morgan, earned a $1,000 Scholarship for her academic and extracurricular achievements. Three CSU- Pueblo students earned GEICO awards in 2010 and were the only Colorado recipients. No other Colorado institutions were represented among the winners in 2011.
GEICO presented more than $65,000 in $1,000 Achievement Awards to college students from across the country. CSU-Pueblo has been listed as an Achievement Award school on its website. www.geico.com. The university selections were based on a number of factors, including recruiter recommendations, the caliber and quality of students, rankings, business school/business programs, HSI/HBCU designation, interview/hire ratios, and relationship/rapport.
Eligible students included sophomores or juniors attending an accredited college or university, who possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and who have demonstrated leadership on campus or within their community are eligible. Eligible students must be business, computer science, or mathematics majors. International students were eligible to apply
