Presidential Search Update

Dear Members of the CSU-Pueblo University and Community,
First, thank you for welcoming Dr. W. David Watts and his wife, Dr. Denise Watts, very warmly to the CSU-Pueblo campus and community.   They expressed their sincere appreciation for your gracious welcome.
Next, to update you on the search, last night search consultant Alberto Pimentel called to advise the CSU-Pueblo Presidential Search Advisory Committee Chair, Dr. Dorothy Horrell, that Dr. Tim Hudson had unexpectedly withdrawn from the search to accept another position.  Obviously, the meetings scheduled next week on campus for Dr. Hudson are cancelled.
This morning several members of the Board of Governors met, as previously scheduled, with Dr. Watts to learn more about him in light of the committee’s endorsement of him as a finalist and his interest as indicated by his recent visit to the campus. The Board is aware and so is Dr. Watts that Dr. Hudson has withdrawn from the search.  After this morning’s conversation with Dr. Watts, the Board members indicated their continued interest in his candidacy.  They asked that he let us know if the interest is mutual and he advised us that he will do so by the end of next week.  The Search Advisory Committee will meet after we hear back from Dr. Watts.
If you have been able to participate in the search, we appreciate your dedication of time and effort to the important search process.
Finally, thank you for your interest and continued cooperation in the search for the next President of CSU-Pueblo.  We will keep you informed of the status of the search.
Best regards,
 Joseph B. Blake,
