Colorado State University – Pueblo Teacher groups sponsor book drive this month

PUEBLO – This holiday season, the Colorado State University-Pueblo Teacher Education Association and Teacher Education Program in collaboration with several Pueblo business and community partners are sponsoring the 11th Annual Bring a Kid a Book (BAKAB) book drive to put books directly into the hands of school children come from homes where books are not readily available.

In 2011, organizers will collect new books (or monetary donations for book purchasing) and distribute the books at assemblies in Pueblo City Schools and School District 70. The assemblies will be held near the winter break so that the books will be viewed as a holiday gift for the students. The business or organization that collects the most donations will receive a plaque recognizing its outstanding contribution. Boxes will flyers attached are available to be placed in high traffic areas to collect donations. Donation boxes may be found in buildings across the CSU-Pueblo campus.

A pick-up service is available for large donations or monetary by calling 719-549-2216. Monetary donations also will be accepted. Anyone wishing to donate a gift card from Barnes and Noble can purchase it, and representatives will pick it up from the donor, or they can deliver it to Technology Building T230.

The BAKAB book drive will continue through the end of November. All books will be
