Colorado State University – Pueblo nursing students to participate in annual health fair

PUEBLO – The Nursing Department at Colorado State University – Pueblo will coordinate a host of local organizations to provide health screening and education to provide for the health needs of the community at the annual 9Health Fair on Saturday, April 9.

The Annual 9Health Fair will be held from 7a.m. – noon at Praise Assembly of God, 2000 Troy Ave. The 9Health Fair provides free medical screening services and education to those 18 years and older. Additional in-depth screening services will be available for a nominal fee.

Attendees have the opportunity to receive free screenings for common medical conditions and speak to a wide range of medical professionals about their health. Participants may obtain free screening for blood pressure/pulse, bone density, weight/height/Body Mass index, blood sugar, hearing, vision, lung functioning, and glucose finger sticks. 

Participants also may receive screenings, including prostate specific antigen (PSA) screening for $25, colon cancer screening kits and education for $20, blood count screening for $15, and blood chemistry screening for $30.

Other services include breast exams and pap smears, prostate/testicular exam, ask a pharmacist, cardiac risk assessment and much more. Donations of used eyeglasses are requested to share the gift of sight.
