Colorado State University - Pueblo welcomes visiting art professor Tim Hossler
PUEBLO – Colorado State University-Pueblo welcomes visiting artist Tim Hossler for a series of events this weekend, March 11-13, including a public lecture about his career path and a hands-on workshop about book design of artwork.
A public lecture, “Graphic by Nature: the meandering career path of Tim Hossler,” will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11 in Art/Music 105.
Hossler is the former in-house art director for photographer Annie Leibovitz. During his tenure, he helped Leibovitz create her most memorable images, books, and exhibition of the late 1990s through the early 2000s. He earned a degree in architecture from Kansas State University in 1993 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbook Academy of Art in 2005. He is the art director of the Wolfsonian-Florida International University in Miami Beach and previously was the director of design at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass Moca). At the Wolfsonian, he oversees the visual image of the museum and is instrumental in its yearly preparations for the Art Basel/Miami Beach Art Fair.
From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday (March 12) and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday (March 13), he will lead a hands-on workshop on book design, assisting students with the conceptual and structural challenges of creating books of their own artwork.
