Three CSU- Pueblo students earn $1,000 national GEICO Achievement Awards
PUEBLO –Three Colorado State University- Pueblo students were the only Colorado recipients of GEICO Achievement Awards for 2010.
Staci Brady, a senior business management major from Canon City, Micah Holt, a junior computer information systems major from Pueblo, and Garrison Ortiz, a junior business management major from Pueblo, earned $1,000 scholarships for their academic and extracurricular achievements. No other Colorado institutions were represented among the winners.
GEICO presented more than $75,000 in $1,000 Achievement Awards to college students from across the country. CSU-Pueblo has been listed as an Achievement Award school on its website. www.geico.com. The university selections were based on a number of factors, including recruiter recommendations, the caliber and quality of students, rankings, business school/business programs, HSI/HBCU designation, interview/hire ratios, and relationship/rapport.
Eligible students included sophomores or juniors attending an accredited college or university, who possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and who have demonstrated leadership on campus or within their community are eligible. Eligible students must be business, computer science, or mathematics majors. International students were eligible to apply
