Colorado State University-Pueblo freshman and Upward Bound graduate Mikiel Ghelieh has had a paper accepted for presentation at the 7th Annual Chicano Literatures Conference at the University of León, in León, Spain next month and is seeking financial support to make his dream a reality.
Ghelieh, an English major from Pueblo, will present to international authors, poets, and scholars in Chicano literature, “Ramifications of Isolation in the Landscape of the Barrio in Sandra Cisneros’ The House on Mango Street,” at the international conference in Spain, May 27-29. He still must raise $2,500 to support his travel and accommodation at the conference and so seeks support from the general and business community in the form of personal and corporate donations.
