Pueblo School of Arts and Sciences to create and fill Empy Bowls

The Pueblo School of Arts and Sciences will create bowls and then fill them as part of the 14th Annual Empty Bowls Nite 2009 to be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, 210 N Santa Fe Ave.  A $10 ticket provides attendees with a meal, entertainment, and a pottery bowl to take home. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with dinner from 4-7 p.m. PSAS students and parents have provided hand crafted and decorated pottery bowls for the cause.

Established in the Pueblo community more than 15 years ago, the Empty Bowls project is part of a nationwide campaign to create hunger awareness.

Proceeds from the event will be distributed to local charities including, Pueblo Community Soup Kitchen, Posada, and Way Side Cross Gospel Rescue Mission to provide food and housing for displaced and needy families within the Pueblo community.

The evening’s entertainment will be provided by PSAS instrumental and vocal students,  Aymoray School of  Dance, and  local musicians. Colorado businesses and more than 30 local restaurants also will contribute by donating food and services for the dinner.
