COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY–PUEBLO A seasoned fundraiser and event planner has been added to the Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation advancement team as the director of development.
Pueblo native Julie C. Rodriguez will plan, implement and administer capital, comprehensive, and mini-campaigns for the University as well as administer the private scholarship awarding and solicitation process. Rodriguez brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and connections to CSU-Pueblo. Most recently, she worked as a contractor for the Xcel Energy Foundation, where she assisted with grant making and foundation operations.
Prior to Xcel, she served as the director of public programs for the 2008 Democratic National Convention (DNC), where she was responsible for programs and outreach for the DNC. As a fundraising, marketing and events management professional, Julie has also worked for the City of Denver, where she developed and managed city-wide cultural initiatives including One Book, One Denver and Doors Open Denver. She also served as director of annual giving at Colorado School of Mines and Mile High Montessori Early Learning Centers and assistant director of student activities at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Additionally, Julie has served on numerous community and non-profit boards, is a founding board member of Denver’s Latina Chamber and 2003 participant and current board chair of the Circle of Latina Leadership. Julie was appointed by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper in 2005 to serve on the Denver Public Library Commission. She is a recipient of the 2008 Forty Under 40 Award by the Denver Business Journal and received the Outstanding Alumni Award from Metropolitan State College of Denver, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2007.
