Colorado State University-Pueblo ranked first among the Top 28 Best Buys in Online College Degrees for its distance bachelor's in social science and sociology, according to GetEducated.com, which recently released its national affordability rankings of colleges that offer the best values in online bachelor degrees in psychology, social science and human services.

Students will pay under $18,000 for a four-year degree completed through distance learning, far less than the average online bachelor's in this career area, which costs $40,676. State of residency does not make a difference in the distance learning tuition rate at CSU-Pueblo.
CSU-Pueblo’s top-ranked degree is offered through a traditional correspondence course format, which allows it to keep costs low and give students more flexibility than even an online version of the same degree. The rankings compare distance learning programs of all types, which do not require students to set foot on a campus.
"Our distance learning program extends some of the best faculty expertise, course work, and degree completion programs that CSU-Pueblo offers to thousands of academically engaged students all over the world, in locations ranging from forward operating bases in Afghanistan to scientific research stations in Antarctica,” said Dr. James Malm, dean of Continuing Education. “Some of our students may take just a single course over the summer that transfers to degree programs at other universities. Other students transfer into the University and take up to three-dozen courses in a little more than three years to earn their baccalaureate degrees at a distance from CSU-Pueblo."
Florida State University's online bachelor's in interdisciplinary social sciences ranked number two as the most affordable option for Florida residents at just under $20,000. Out-of-state residents will pay significantly more-over $77,000-for this same degree. Adams State College of Colorado was rated number three at an estimated tuition of just under $20,000 for all online students.
As with residential colleges, the best values in online education come from public universities. Among the most expensive online degrees for human service professionals: Drexel University (Pennsylvania) ($104,000) and Mercy College (New York) ($78,000), both private universities. The online college rankings are based on a survey of 41 regionally accredited universities that offer 84 distance learning bachelor's degrees in human service career areas.
