Colorado State University - Pueblo Fine Art Gallery features group artist exhibit
PUEBLO – The Fine Art Gallery at Colorado State University-Pueblo will host an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 6) for a new group exhibit, Thx 4 ur Info. The artists in this show play with transforming the value in personal documentation and stories. Participating artists include Jenna Kuiper (Albuquerque, NM), Kyle Pierce (San Francisco, CA), Rachel Perry Welty (Boston, MA), and Boris Ostrerov (Milwaukee, WI)
Also on display will be collaborative artwork created by CSU-Pueblo art students and conceptual artist/writer Brian Buckbee (Missoula, MT). Buckbee uses imaginative formats to disseminate his stories, including but not limited to founding a mobile Sadness Museum (which he toured around Nevada last summer), establishing BCKB: A Writer Inc., and creating a model town “Buckbeeville” (http://www.buckbeeawriter.com/buckbeeville). In addition to these projects, Brian has published his stories in The Sun, Threepenny Review and Mid-American Review. Participating CSU-Pueblo students include Gus Junaedi (senior, Pueblo), Camillia Leflore, Katherine Mitchell (senior, Pueblo), Robin Romero (senior, Colorado City), and John Young (senior, Lamar).
Additionally, there will be a live, interactive performance piece by undergraduate students Joanna Swan, Julie Grimm, Matthew Bangcaya, Phil Collins and Sarah Trowbridge from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA.
The Fine Art Gallery is located on the CSU-Pueblo campus in the Capps Capozzolo Center for the Academic and Performing, Art/Music Building.
