CSU–Pueblo announces lecture/exhibit by Euphrosyne Doxiadis


The Art Department at Colorado State University-Pueblo will host a lecture by Euphrosyne Doxiadis, who will discuss “The Fayum Mummy Portraits” from her book The Mysterious Fayum Portraits, Abrams, on Friday (Oct. 31). The free event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Fine Art Gallery located in the Art/Music building on campus.

An exhibition featuring works by Doxiadis will open with a reception from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 3 in the Art Gallery. Additional artists featured in the exhibition will include Geoff Bernstein, Barbara Factor, Dean Fleming, Rafael Mahdavi, Bart Midwood, Ben Polsky, Kenny Schneider, Holli Schorno, and Peggy Zehring.

In addition, the Art Department will host “The Legacy Exhibition,” featuring former CSU-Pueblo art professors Jo-Ann Brassil, Jim Callahan, Nick Latka, Orlin Helgoe, Robert Hench, Carl Jensen, Ed Sajbel, Lew Tilley, Robert Wands, and Pueblo Community College instructor Ann Yaeger.

Both displays will be exhibited through December 6 and are free and open to the public.
Art Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
