CSU–Pueblo Chicano Studies class to hold food drive at Nov. 8 game

Students in Judy Baca’s Chicano Studies 230 class at Colorado State University-Pueblo will be assisting local families in need through a food and clothing drive at the University’s final home football game of the season on Nov. 8.

Students will be located at the entrance gates of the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl accepting any of the items listed below. All contributions will be donated to the Los Pobres Sacred Heart Church in Avondale.

According to event organizer Kaylie Erickson, donors will NOT get a free ticket to the game, but will get the satisfaction of having participated in a ‘pay it forward’ scenario!

“It may not seem like a lot, but if we can get everyone to contribute, this project will make a vast difference,” she said.

Most needed items include:
• Canned Food
• Winter clothing for all sizes
• First-Aid Kit
• Gift Cards
• Any non perishable donations
• Toys
