2008 Homecoming activities at CSU–Pueblo scheduled for Oct. 13-18


Former and current students of Southern Colorado Junior College, Pueblo Junior College, Southern Colorado State College, the University of Southern Colorado, and Colorado State University – Pueblo are encouraged to return to campus Oct. 13 – 18 for a variety of activities, planned by the CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association.
From Oct. 13 – 18, the Alumni Association has partnered with the Steel City Theatre Company to offer a buy one get one free discount for alumni when they purchase tickets for the production of Personals, by David Crane, Seth Friedman and Marta Kauffman. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Hoag Recital Hall. Tickets are $7.50 at the door, contact 719-289-0293 for times and information.

On Thursday (Oct. 16), the first 100 alumni to RSVP will receive free tickets to the Sangre De Cristo Art Museum. At 6 p.m., alumni are invited to enjoy the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Project from the newly christened HARP Thunderboat. The event includes appetizers, a cash bar, and acoustic guitar serenade for $10. Seating is limited, so please RSVP. Following the river cruise, come out to 101 N. Union for an After Hours at the 101. All alumni are welcome to mix and mingle and enjoy Thundershots.

On Friday (Oct. 17), El Pueblo History Museum will offer discounted admission to CSU-Pueblo alumni. At 7 p.m., a bon fire and pep rally east of the soccer fields will feature fall athletes and coaches. Finish up the evening with the first ever Howl – a night of cool jazz and casino gaming beginning at 8 p.m. Come plain, come fancy, come any way you like, just come out for this evening of fun, prizes, food, and a cash bar in the OUC Ballroom. Your $20 ticket includes $100 in gaming chips.

On Saturday (Oct. 18), alumni are invited to bring the family to the Pueblo Zoo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mention you’re an alumnus of CSU-Pueblo and receive a special discount at the gate. At 4 p.m., join fellow alumni at a pre-game tailgate party in the stadium parking lot. Enjoy food, drinks, and a live broadcast by KILO radios station, a visit from the CSU-Pueblo pep band and dance team, as well as live performance by the Rock Creek Road Band, all for $2 per person. Then cheer Thunderwolf football on to victory against New Mexico Highlands in the stadium at 7 p.m. Contact the athletic office at 719-549-2711 for information on purchasing game tickets.
