Chamber Music with CSU–Pueblo's Veronika String Quartet on March 25


The Veronika String Quartet at Colorado State University – Pueblo will present chamber music at its final concert of the 2006-2007 season. “The Russian Soul: Shostakovich” will be presented at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center Theater.

The program will include Franz Josef Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major, Opus 64, No.5, ‘The Lark’; La Oracion del Torero by Joaquin Turina; and String Quartet No. 9 in E-flat Major, Op.117 by Dmitri Shostakovich. Tickets for the concert, $15 for adults and $7.50 for students, can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center box office at 295-7200. The Veronika String Quartet serves as Artists-in-Residence for CSU-Pueblo and the Pueblo Symphony. The Quartet has performed extensively throughout Europe, Russia and the United States. The repertoire of the Veronika Quartet ranges from Haydn and Beethoven to twentieth-century works. The Quartet has recorded with the Warner Brothers, Narada and Northwest Press labels.
