In celebration of Women’s History Month, the English Department and the Women’s Studies program at Colorado State University - Pueblo announce the 13th annual contest for Southern Colorado’s women poets.
The back of each poem should include the following information: author’s name, phone number, address, and division (middle school, high school, college, or community-at-large). Up to three poems of any length or type may be entered, each on a separate page.
Cash prizes of $25 (1st), $15 (2nd), and $10 (3rd) will be given in each division by the CSU-Pueblo University Library. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. Mail or deliver entries to: Margaret Barber, c/o Dept. of English, Psychology Building Room 162, CSU-Pueblo, 2200 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo, CO 81001. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the annual Evening of Women's Poetry, 7 p.m. on Monday, March 19, in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge on the CSU-Pueblo campus.
Guest poet Veronica Patterson will judge the contest. All entries will be considered for publication in a future volume of the Southern Colorado Women's Poetry Series.
