Mark McCoy is a visual artist with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from New York City's prestigious School of Visual Arts and has published three books of artwork Wound, When I Die Bury Me In The Clothes of My Youth, and Cathexis. His drawings involve collaged architecture. He currently resides in and bases his record label, Youth Attack! out of Brooklyn, New York. Mark is a vocalist for several punk rock, black metal, powerviolence and experimental bands, some of which include Charles Bronson, Das Oath, Holy Molar, and the Failures. He also recorded a spoken-word comedy Split 7" with Mark Telfian of Limp Wrist. He currently plays guitar in Suburbanite and the anthemic hardcore punk act Veins.
In Friday’s talk, he'll be discussing about his art approach as well as his experience making a living as an independent artist and musician. TALK IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
