The coordinating committee for the
2013 Southeastern Colorado National History Day Contest at Colorado State
University-Pueblo has organized a special event on February 23 to raise funds
to support the local National History
Day operations.
This year will mark the 19th
consecutive year that CSU-Pueblo has hosted the competition, which encourages
middle and high school students to explore and interpret historical events
through web pages, performances, publications, and multimedia presentations. The 2013 contest themed, "Turning Points In History; People, Ideas,
Events," will be held on campus March 9, 2013.
Attendees at the fundraising
event will "Travel Back In Time To
The 1700's..." featuring
Revolutionary War Re-enactor Austin Davidson, who will lead an experience about
exploration, war, inventions, discovery,
and the creation of our nation. Participants
also will learn about traditional life in colonial America and see the
equipment, tools, and clothing of a soldier in the militia.
